Twitter user pays $1500 fine for a joke

We live in some horrified times especially those of terrorist attacks. Now, don't be surprised when you get fined for joking around with random attacks. Paul Chambers was irritated with the closing of Robin Hood airport in Doncaster Sheffield. In result, Pual Chambers made a post on his Twitter space saying, "Crap! Robin Hood Airport is closed. You've got a week and a bit to get your shit together, otherwise I'm blowing the airport sky high!". This seems like a joke to most online users and frankly vast population wouldn't care but a Robin Hood employee stumbled upon the message and even though he didn't see anything wrong with it he contacted his supervisor just in case. The supervisor contacted the authorities and Paul Chambers got sued for a threat.

The judge indicated that Paul's statement is threatening and made Paul Chambers pay $1500 fine. The next Twitter post Paul made was about making a court appeal for judge's decision.
